The Central Pennsylvania African American Museum resides inside the Old Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, famous for being a spot along the Underground Railroad in the mid-1800s. Inside the museum, see a collection of art, antiques, photographs and books that convey the stories of African Americans throughout the centuries, both before and after the Civil War gained them freedom, though not fair treatment. Set in the northeast portion of downtown, the museum building is also remembered as the oldest black-owned church in town.
