Explore the machines which help humans travel and navigate the skies at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, where a variety of aircraft produced from 1928 until 1982 are displayed in their restored conditions. Around a third of the aircraft held by the museum are military in nature, including a Northrop P-61B Black Widow and a Republic F-84B Thunderjet. Still, the other two thirds of the collection is made up of civilian craft, like the fascinating 1970 Rutan Varieze and a 1935 Kellett KD-1 Autogiro. Taking a guided tour of this facility is the best way to learn about the aircraft contained within, but printed brochures are available for a self-guided walk through the facility as well. The museum sits on the grounds of Reading Regional Field a few miles northwest of downtown.
Open daily 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Last tour runs at 3:00 p.m.
Adults $6; Children (6-12) $3; Children 5 and under are free.
